Apple Watch Ultra - Value priced Nomad's Titanium band type Review
Nomad's Titanium band type for Apple Watch Ultra
Apple Watch Ultra
As an avid freediver, the Apple Watch Ultra is phenomenal and I didn't hesitate to pre-order it. As a fan of original Apple accessories, I purchased three bands for my Apple Watch Ultra:
- Ocean band
- Trail Loop
- Alpine Loop
The original bands above all have titanium links, with the exception of the Ocean Band.
This is to prevent galvanic corrosion(Since the Ocean band link is made of rubber, this is not a concern)
Galvanic Corrosion
When different metals come into contact with each other, the presence of an electrolyte(water, sweat, etc.) causes a potential difference that causes the metal with the lower potential to rust
I actually work in corrosion protection and have an international corrosion protection certificate.
When I was looking for a metal band for summer, I searched for Titanium and for that reason and the Nomad's Titanium band design was my favorite.
However, it was quite expensive for me to buy right now.
So I started searching ad found a cheaper titanium band with a similar style.
Unboxing and First Impressions
- Design is better than I expected
- Low-quality finish
The connection method is outdated. And when unfolded, the lack of finish leaves sharp edges.
The fit is smooth, with some play, but you shouldn't have to worry about it coming apart because of the way it's fastened.
The end result is a pretty finished look.
I wore it for a few days.
Conclusion
- Perfect match for the Apple Watch Ultra
- Surprisingly comfortable
- Free from rust
- Lightweight(for a metal band)
- Affordable price
